The Lindeberg designed estate of Ellsleigh in Biltmore Forest, near Asheville, NC, was completed in 1927 for Robert Lee Ellis, former president of the Coca-Cola Bottling Company of Asheville. Gregory Koester, who worked on the restoration of Lindeberg’s personal home, provides a unique insight into the design and evolution of this estate. The talk will be enhanced with enlarged reproductions of a treasure trove of documents found in the home, including elevations and correspondence between Lindeberg and Ellis. Koester will also discuss the comparison of the Ellis’ work with that of his contemporary David Adler. There will be a Q and A following the presentation.
