Who We Are

The Institute of Classical Architecture & Art (ICAA) is the leading national nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing the practice and appreciation of the classical tradition in architecture and the allied arts.

Originally founded as the Charlotte Chapter, the North Carolina Chapter grew in 2015 to include architects, landscape architects, interior designers, builders, developers, artists, craftsmen, vendors, and others across the entire state.

Our mission is dedicated to advancing the contemporary practice and appreciation of the classical tradition in our regional architecture, urbanism and the allied arts. We fulfill our mission through several program areas including education, media, events and advocacy. This includes:

  • Private tours of significant residences rarely opened to the public.
  • Educational meetings held in local artisan workshops, design offices and product showrooms.
  • Classes developing skills such as architectural rendering, watercolors and classical detailing.
  • Lectures given by prominent speakers from around the world.

Become A Sponsor

As a sponsor of the North Carolina Chapter of the Institute of Classical Architecture & Art, you are directly supporting our educational and scholarship programs, lectures, awards program and architectural study tours throughout the fiscal year. Both Sponsorship and Membership support are critical to us. We have a strong and expanding member base of architects, landscape designers, interior designers, builders, allied partners, and enthusiasts. A portion of all membership dues stays in support of our chapter and the other portion towards the support of the National based Institute. Thus, we rely heavily on our generous sponsors to help fund and expand our educational, awards and scholarship programs.

The success of our chapter is due to the dedication of our members, the commitment of our board of trustees, and the generosity of our sponsors such as you. We are most grateful for your generous support.
